✨What is your estimated finish time?
All clients will receive an estimated start and finish date upon receiving a commission slot.
✨How often can I expect an update/WIP?
Usually, commissioners can expect to receive at least one update per month once we start work on your suit.
✨Are commission slots only given to adults?
Yes. We ask that you show us an image of your ID before sending the first payment. The name on the ID should match the name on the bank account or any payment method you are using. Add-on quotes do not require identification to be sent to clients.
✨Can I get a quote?
We no longer do quotes, we don't have enough time to process the sheer amount of quote requests we normally receive. Commissions are now offer-based.
✨How are slot recipients picked?
Due to the high volume of commission requests we receive, we unfortunately can't take them all on at the same time. Characters of high difficulty or complexity may be passed over for simpler designs, or at times commissions may be picked at random. Higher offers have a better chance at getting a spot, but we will also consider character difficulty level and design as well.
Repeated interest in our commission slots is noticed and will result in a higher chance of being picked in the future. We're a small team and unfortunately can not make all of your beautiful and unique fursonas, thank you for your understanding!
✨Can I upgrade my partial into a full suit? Can I commission additional fursuit parts?
We are willing to do full suit or partial suit upgrades, but the suit head must be made by Canis Major. Former customers are also welcome to inquire about the process of making their own fursuit parts.
✨Do you sell your head bases?
No, unless under special circumstances.
✨Can I ask to alter an existing head base for my commission?
Yes, we can customize multiple features on our head bases. Editing head blanks to match the features of your fursona is included in your commission. We are even able to custom sculpt heads to match an artist's art style, but you will need to get permission from the artist first.
✨Can you make fursuit heads from foam?
We prefer to use PLA+ 3D printed head blanks in our fursuit making process. We no longer offer foam fursuit head blanks, however, we offer flexible TPU head blanks if you want your head to be semi-soft.
✨Are your heads glasses friendly?
Our heads are usually glasses-friendly, with the exception of our follow-me eye forms. Large glasses frames may not fit well in a head.
✨What can I expect in terms of vision/visibility?
✨Can I pick up my suit locally or at a convention?
Local pick-up is available near Seattle WA/ King County WA. If we're going to be present at a convention you are welcome to pick up your suit there if you are attending as well. If we are traveling by air, client must pay the baggage fee charged by the airline.
✨What is the warranty on fursuits?
We provide a 1-month full warranty if there are any errors made on our fursuits. In this instance, Canis Major will pay for shipping fees.
We also provide a 12-month free repair warranty. Clients pay shipping fees in these 12 months.
If the suit is damaged on purpose, or from gross negligence, we reserve the right to deny coverage for repairs within the 12-month repair period. Please keep in mind: fursuits are wearable art and must be treated properly and with care.
After 12 months we can repair fursuits with repair and shipping fees paid by the customer.
✨Is it okay to use my new suit in NSFW/adult activities?
We at Canis Major have no issues with adults doing adult things in our suits, as long as the person wearing the suit is above the age of 18. However, we do ask that Canis Major suiters refrain from doing NSFW activities in public places like hotel lobbies and that minors are not exposed to any NSFW content in any way. Please respect our brand and image and keep adult activities in adult-only spaces! Any suit involved in NSFW activities that are sent back to us for refurbishment/repair MUST BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED before being shipped.
✨May I resell my fursuit?
Clients have the right to re-sell fursuits we've made, but we ask that resale prices do not exceed the price of the suit when it was new.
✨Do I get any other goodies with my new fursuit?
Our suits all come with a free digital art badge that can be printed by the client after full payment and shipping fees have been received. Our full-body fursuits also come with a custom-made ref sheet.
✨Do you have any pets in your studio?
Our makers have severe animal allergies. Our studio is a pet-free area.
✨Can you make fursuit stilts for my full suit commission?
Yes, we can! However， we don't recommend stilted legs for everyone, as they are quite heavy and make solo suiting difficult.
Your legs will fatigue quicker and likely will be sore after suiting. We do not recommend suiting with stilted legs without a dedicated handler to ensure your safety. We also don't recommend stilted legs if you have issues with stability/balance or have an injury that affects your knee and ankle mobility.
Not all characters need stilts, unless your character is tall and has long legs. We can make slim digi-legs that will also look good for long legged characters, and you can walk normally without the added weight and energy expenditure of stilted legs!
✨Can I communicate with languages other than English?
Yes, We speak English and Chinese and understand some Cantonese and Japanese!
